Totem’s Values

T - TRIBE - We strive to create a community of supportive, enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgable health warriors. We believe that you're the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Your relationships will empower you or drain you - the choice of who you allow into your life is yours. It's important to choose carefully and make healthy changes as needed. #TotemTribe

O - OBSERVATIONAL- We believe that figuring out what's best for your mind, body, and emotions requires trying new, and maybe unconventional, things then observing how they effect you. Trying new things in a healthy and safe way is the only way to understand what makes your body tick. Leave behind what doesn't serve you and pick up the things that do. You are always allowed to change your mind when you learn and observe new information. Your health is as unique as you.

T - TENACIOUS - Wellness is a journey of consistently doing human behaviors. In order to see and feel results of a healthy lifestyle and make the most of our life, we must be willing to stick to our routines and habits, and do things that make us more human even when other people and the world at large might not encourage us to do so. A willingness to try new things for the sake of our wellness and be more human as often as possible might draw judgment, criticism, and raised eyebrows from people who don't get it. That's their journey. You stick to yours.

E - ENVIRONMENT - Your environment should be conducive to your human-ness. What does this mean? It's important to spend time outside. Enjoy the sunshine and the cold. It's important to make sure that your indoor space is one that is healthy, uncluttered, and that you enjoy being in. It means the people you surround yourself with. It means the job you have and the office you spend your time in.

M - MOVEMENT - You are built to move. You are not built to sit in your car, then sit at a desk, then sit at a dinner table, and then sit on the couch. You are build to stand, to play, to move, to lift things, to walk, to carry, to crawl, to sprint, and to celebrate what your body can do. All of the movement you do matters - from big, heavy compound lifts to learning how to move your baby toe. Along with movement, it's important to recover and work on your mobility. Your body is yours for your life, make sure it's in it for the long haul with you.
